The room got extremely warm as there is no windows and no ventilation. It was only 10 degrees outside but was 23 degrees in the room.

In summer these rooms would be unbearable, but for a fall or winter stay, would be fine.

The room has a decent kitchen with utensils. It was clean and had a quite comfortable bed.

It is a self check-in which was easy, except you must send your identification beforehand via email. Very important to keep in mind if trying to book last minute!

A bit expensive for the location if you are exploring Brussels, but a good option for an airport hotel. Airport about 35 minutes accessible by foot. Grocery store nearby about 2 minutes by foot.

Excellent choice for travelers who wish to be close to Zaventem airport, especially for single guests as for them the rooms are large & comfy and totally self-sustained with a comfy single bed, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with all one needs. There is an Albert Heijn just down the block so in a pinch one could whip up something simple to eat in the kitchenette.
Owners/operators of Ooostel Zaventem are extremely helpful and accommodating, and also fast with communication whenever needed. Place is unattended with self check-in but every morning there is cleaning staff on premise who are happy to give you an extra towel or whatever is needed. A nearby train station (5 minutes on foot) connects you to Central Brussels in just 20 minutes for 3 euros. My go-to place when in Brussels 3-4 times per year!

My stay at both Ooostel locations (Zaventem and Leuven) was extremely disappointing, especially from a technical and maintenance perspective. Unfortunately, the condition of the rooms and the technical services provided were far below any acceptable standard.
In both places, I experienced several serious issues:
* The ventilation was either very poor or completely non-functional, making the rooms feel stuffy and uncomfortable.
* Heating or air conditioning systems were either broken or not properly adjustable.
* The shower and bathroom fixtures were of low quality, with inconsistent water temperature and weak water pressure.
* There seemed to be no regular technical maintenance or housekeeping. It felt like no one was actually checking the rooms for functionality.
* Some power outlets and lights didn’t work properly, which was frustrating and inconvenient.
Given that these types of accommodations are often chosen for short business trips or brief stays, I expected at least a basic level of technical reliability and comfort. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. I would not recommend staying here unless you personally inspect the room beforehand or the management makes serious improvements.

Due to work-related delays, we had a long-term reservation and maintained respectful and professional communication with the manager throughout our stay.
However, toward the end, the manager’s tone in messages became noticeably informal and inappropriate. After sending an email requesting an extension, we received no response. The next day, we were suddenly informed that the room was no longer available, without any prior explanation or coordination.
Unfortunately, instead of addressing the issue or providing an explanation, the manager responded with personal insults and even wished harm upon me — behavior that was completely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially from someone in the hospitality industry.
Additionally, maintenance issues such as a broken door, which had been reported early on, remained unresolved throughout our stay.
This experience severely damaged my trust and has led me to not recommend this accommodation for long-term business stays.

I made a booking then a few days later called to ask if I could change the dates, the woman on the phone said yes that was fine. Just to make sure I called back a couple days to re-confirm and the woman this time said no they can't move it. Stuffed me around.

Has everything necessary for the money you are paying. Just 10 minutes to get to the Airport Brussels by car. Sadly the vending machine card reader was broken and I couldn’t buy anything.

Never more, in front of the facility noone is responding to aby message, phone, SMS, WhatsApp. I am not the only one, there is another client with the same issue.

Very good position in the near of the airport BRU. Be care full to checkin online. But e en if you forget like me you call them and you will get the key. Enjoy
