We chose this hotel specifically while it had a restaurant. We booked the evening before arrival. Upon arrival, we were unapologetically told "the restaurant is full this evening" and that was all, no recommendations, nothing. When I made the reservation, they asked if we wanted breakfast, why couldn't they ask if we wanted dinner?....

It was an overall positive experience, but the rooms could have been cleaner, and they were quite hot during the summer.

The hotel was generally clean, and breakfast was good, but certain amenities—or the lack thereof—should be noted. The room had a very small and flimsy Ikea closet, which made it difficult to store anything properly. They provided a water boiler and cups, but no complimentary tea or coffee. There was also no mini fridge, so if you’re planning to buy treats to take home, like cheese, keep in mind that you’ll have to buy them on the last day of your stay.|They removed one of the bedcovers and the extra pillows two nights before we left, which was an issue for me since I needed them due to my back problem. We were charged €10 per night for each dog (we had two dachshunds), and luckily we always travel with a full kit for them (cushions, blankets, food, and water bowls) because the fee only covered cleaning. Dinner was okay if you chose the menu, but if you plan to order à la carte, I’d recommend going somewhere else.

This hotel has been a bit hit and miss. The beds are comfy and the staff is friendly however they’re not very detail oriented. Went outside to the terrace and most of the tables were full of dish ware from dinner service, the elevator leaves much to be desired and needs to get atleast new flooring.

The inclusive breakfast should absolutely be optional. They don’t serve real coffee only from the vending machine type, the breakfasts options were sparse and the lady working was rude. Also the coffee machine was broken.

Wouldn’t say it’s worth the price.

Edit: After posting the review, the front office CALLED our room at almost midnight to confront us asking why we didn’t speak to them about our issues which really wasn’t very professional and made us extremely uncomfortable. It also feels as though they’re not very respectful of our right to leave a review and to privacy. Not to mention that it was unnecessary as all of what was spoken above could not be changed overnight and had previously been complained about in other reviews 6 months prior to ours and was still unchanged.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. If you are visiting the Alsace region and just need a place to stay and some dinner then this is fine. The place is out-dated but the rooms are rustic in their charm and they are clean, with a decent shower. We had dinner here and the menu was pretty good. It was also clearly popular. I must admit the portions were generous but the food wasn't really my thing, and I thought quite expensive for what it was. However, this might be just me being a little fussy as it was clearly popular, with guests and locals, though I get the impression this is the the only local restaurant available in the area! So, if you are going to stay here, you don't have much choice! ||Overall though, the room was decent and the price reflected its age, so I got what I expected at that price. The staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking. Yes, I'd stay again.

I am compelled to share our recent and highly disappointing experience at Le Verger des Chateaux. Our ordeal began upon arrival just after midnight, when, to our dismay, we found the hotel closed. This unexpected situation forced us to seek alternative accommodation in the middle of the night, a particularly distressing task as my wife is pregnant.

The following day, we were met with a lackadaisical response from the hotel staff. The manager’s casual dismissal of our plight with a mere “oh really? Thought it was tomorrow” was both unprofessional and inconsiderate, especially considering our prior detailed communication via email which left no room for such misunderstandings.

Upon eventually accessing the hotel, the extent of its shortcomings became painfully evident. It is difficult to encapsulate the myriad of issues we encountered, but they significantly marred our experience. The hotel’s attempt at price adjustments during the booking process was another red flag, with the price inexplicably escalating four times, culminating in an exorbitant and unjustifiable rate.

The hotel’s overall condition was deplorable; it was evident that the establishment is struggling to stay afloat. Everything, from amenities to infrastructure, appeared old and neglected. The broken elevator was a testament to this neglect. Given these conditions, we opted not to have dinner at the hotel, despite having already paid for it.

Our breakfast experience was equally disappointing. The food quality was substandard, with nothing appearing fresh. This, coupled with the depleted soap supplies in the bathroom and hallways perpetually cluttered with cleaning equipment, painted a picture of poor management and maintenance.

In conclusion, our stay at Le Verger des Chateaux was far from the relaxing experience we had hoped for. It was marked by a series of unfortunate events and a clear lack of attention to guest comfort and satisfaction. I cannot recommend this hotel and would advise potential guests to seek accommodation elsewhere.

Overall, a good stay. In particular, the evening meal was excellent and the dining room is large and airy with attentive service.||Our only issue was with Reception - we arrived early and were told we could wait in the garden until 15:00 which we did. In fact, the room wasn't ready till 16:00 because "the hotel had been full the night before" but we were irked by the receptionist who was quite rude/discourteous saying that she had "no idea" when the room would be ready as though she couldn't care less. A little hospitality would have helped.

We had a lovely pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms was nicely decorated with a beautiful mountain view (second floor). We enjoyed the breakfast which was simple but full of treats. The restaurant is a calm, relaxed and airy nicely decorated room with a terrace to eat outside if you like. The located of the hotel is super because it is in the middle of the countryside and amongst vineyards and yet it is next to all the places to visit on the Alsace wine route which are beautiful.
